Ok I’m just going to say it, when will these people learn that they cannot control the dinosaurs. This was a good movie, but the storyline is kind of predictable by now. Some rich guy hires someone to put up with the dinosaurs and they get a big head and decided to make money, the plan goes terribly wrong, and then he gets eaten by said dinosaurs. But I will continue to watch these movies because I love them.
I was baffled and all at once not surprised that the movie started with a government court case and dinosaur’s activist’s groups. Like the dinosaurs went extinct for a reason, all they have done is cause trouble when in contact with people. They have lived on the island by themselves but even mother nature does not want them alive. She is sending a volcano to eradicate them! I was surprised that the main characters did not spend a lot of time on the island. And when they left the island, I was saddened by that last dinosaur scene, the dino was one of the docile ones and he is crying out for help, then he is engulfed by the lava and smoke. It was heartbreaking!
Let’s go back to the rich man and his granddaughter. I knew something was off about her, but I wish we had gotten a better constructed back story. The grandpa’s story that he was a partner of the original dude who created the dinosaurs was shaky at best and not well constructed. We also never figure out how old his daughter was when she died or when she died. In the picture that the granddaughter sees they are practically the same age but was the granddaughter made to be this age as a clone or did they create her as a baby and she grew up. Also, something that doesn’t make sense is was she the first genetic experiment for humans or did he practice, and this was the success because if the granddad was in business with the original dude that was some odd years ago and the girl would have to be more than ten.
When the little girl is running in the house from the dinosaur, when does she not know any better hiding places. Like she had the great ideal to get in the on the table waiter but then she leaves it! Also, she won’t stop screaming, I know the dino must have been scary to her, but she must have never seen a single scary movie and known that you are supposed to be quiet and not attract attention! Let’s not forget she choose to hide ON her bed. The grandpa must of forget to include that gene when he made her!
So obliviously the evil guy has never seen the news or read the reports that humans could not be controlled on a WHOLE island when he got the bright ideal to bring them to his employer’s house on the MAINLAND.
My favorite part where all the baby dinosaurs. The flashback videos of Blue and Owen were so adorable. And the dinosaur that Owen uses to break out of his cell is so cute.
The ending was weird to me though. Like they let the dinosaurs go (why did they leave the button available for the little girl with no sense to push) and they show how they are all out in the world wreaking havoc, but you can’t seriously tell me that all the dinos are going to live, they are going to be hunted down and killed or captured. Also, the guy at the end states that we are living in a new world but there were maybe 20 dinosaurs that are out in the world (for now, until that scientist makes more) but how much will this actually impact the US. Like the big fish dinosaur is going to be a problem but the others maybe not!
Overall, I loved this movie. It was one of the movies I was most looking forward to this year and it did not let me down!
